Curating intrigue, wonder, and the will to live.

Hello Muselings, we meet again!

December has entered its “too many emails, not enough daylight” era. This is a small collection of things I found to help counteract that.

vibe check

This week’s vibe is a roadside motel, snow piled high, the sky doing that blue-purple thing, and Schitt's Creek playing.

small fact, big feeling

Cows have best friends and get visibly stressed when separated from them. Scientists call it “social buffering.” I just call it relatable.

→ Can we use this as a case to have a work bestie on hand at all times?

some cool art

Regret to inform you I’ll be late to everything. I’m busy wandering a snow-covered lane with a dog and my thoughts.

Art: A winter day in the woods of Northern Zealand, Anders Andersen-Lundby (1874)

→ Vintage (and free) snowy dreamscapes that make winter briefly forgivable

 linguistic oddities

Full of Piss and Vinegar: A fun, 19th century way to describe someone spirited, unapologetic, and mildly difficult to contain.

→ Feels less like an insult and more like a personality type. I back it.

a writing prompt

They say love can move mountains. Write the story of Mount Everest.

→ Feeling brave? Tag us on IG if you post it.

dream house alert

This week’s fantasy residence is a British escape affectionately described as “frazzled English woman interior.” They had me at frazzled.

→ Proof that having excellent taste does not require having it all figured out

the free shelf

Because capitalism is exhausting and your budget deserves a break.

  → This week’s gem: Radio.Garden

Tune in to live radio from anywhere on Earth.

Essentially, travel with no itinerary and no pants.

from my lens

If I could only drive one road for the rest of my life, it'd be this one. It felt like exploring the very birthplace of folklore & ancient secrets. Scotland is a fairytale, but so is any place that you choose to romanticize.

until next time...

If this email made you feel an inkling of wonder or chuckle once, it was all worth it.

Same time next week?

If you enjoyed this, consider sharing it with someone you don't hate. Until next Monday, xoxo
